obit: don herbert dies at 89
what a sad day tuesday was, after i woke up and saw the headline that mr wizard was dead. it tugged at the strings of my little heart pretty hard, someone who had such a strange and profound effect on me as a child. for most of the first 13 years or so of my life, mr wizard introduced me to science and technology and gave me an undying thirst for knowledge. surely i wouldnt be where i am today if it weren’t for his show.

Some guys remember that special gym teacher, who taught them to act like big lugnuts.
Others remember screaming drill sergeants.
A few even remember the crazy wino who would buy them a six pack of beer in exchange for one of the cans.
Lots of people have made men out of boys.But it was Mr. Wizard who made us nerds.
He is sorely missed.
